Each time I’ve walked the halls, sat in classrooms, or engaged in conversations with our dedicated staff and students, I’ve felt an overwhelming sense of pride and gratitude. I’ve come to quickly recognize the heartbeat of Waverly Schools – it’s a rhythm created by shared ambition, mutual respect, community engagement, and an unwavering commitment to a tradition of excellence.

 

In this issue, we pull back the curtain to spotlight the people, most of whom are homegrown, who make Waverly truly shine. You’ll delve into the narratives of our talented educators who, day in and day out, go beyond textbooks to shape young minds. Discover the impactful stories of our birth through K specialists who, often behind the scenes, play crucial roles in ensuring our students receive comprehensive and individualized support. Revel in the achievements of our alumni who proudly uphold the Waverly spirit right here in our community, and meet our Board volunteers whose dedication seamlessly binds school and community. And, importantly, get acquainted with our Board President – an individual whose inclusive, collaborative leadership style along with the Board’s vision set the course for our collective journey.

 

While this is my initial year with Waverly Schools, the stories, aspirations, and dreams held within our community aren’t new to me. They resonate with the very reasons I chose a path in education. I sincerely hope that as you read this issue, you not only feel informed but inspired by your own reflection. Because this truly is your school.
